The Agent button appears in the Notes and Description toolbars of the issue form, before Help. It writes, rewrites, shortens or translates text using everything the model may know about the issue.
How to use
- Open an issue (or the new issue form) and click the Agent button.
- Enter the key points or instructions ("reply that the fix will be in 2.1, ask for logs"). If you already started a comment or description, the AI rewrites your text instead of replacing it.
- Click Run. Progress and the lookups made by the AI are shown in the window; Stop cancels the request.
- Click Insert. The text is put into the field, the form is not saved: review it and save yourself.
What the model sees
- The whole issue as you see it: fields, custom fields, journal, relations, watchers, spent time, changesets and the list of attachments.
- Your unsaved Subject and Description, if they differ from the saved ones, and the draft in the field.
- Data of other RedmineUP plugins when they are installed: Helpdesk ticket, checklists, tags.
- Private notes and any data you cannot see in the UI are never sent.
Attachments
Tick Consider attachments to send new attachments (images, PDF and text files) to the model. Without the flag they are not sent. Limits: 5 MB per file, up to 10 files and the total size from the Maximum attachment size setting.
Output format
The text is generated in Textile or Markdown according to Administration → Settings → General → Text formatting. Macros written by the model are not executed.
Rules
- A new request cancels your previous active one.
- The button is shown only with the Use Agent permission in a project with the Agent module. A description draft for a new issue needs Add issues; a comment needs the right to add notes.
- Style and rules are set with AI instructions.
- The model can look up other issues, wiki pages and attachments, see AI assistant tools.
