Instructions are rules for the model: language, length, format, terms. One instruction can be set per context.

Where to set them
- Project instructions: Project settings → Agent tab. Needs Manage Agent settings. They describe team rules, terms and facts about the project.
- Personal instructions: My account → AI Instructions (shown if you have Use Agent in at least one project with the module). They describe your style.
- Model instructions: custom instructions of a model connection, see Connecting an AI model.
Each instruction is up to 10000 characters, one row per context and owner.
Precedence
Project rules win over personal ones; your style (language, length, format) is used where the project is silent. In shared summary mode only project instructions are used and the personal summary instructions are hidden; stored rows come back when the personal mode is switched on.
Knowledge sources
Write "use the wiki" or a link to external documentation in the instructions to let the AI read the project wiki or a web page, see AI assistant tools.
