PRO Versions of Redmine appear on the chart as diamonds at their due date. Releases and milestones therefore stand next to the work that leads to them.
What is shown
- The versions of the issues on the chart (shared versions come with their issues), in any status, with a due date inside the range. A version without issues on the chart or without a date is not drawn.
- A diamond with the version name; for a version of another project, Project - name.
- Issues without a due date keep their own one-day bar; they are not stretched to the version date as on the core Gantt.
Where it is drawn
| Grouping | Place |
|---|---|
| none or assignee | A Versions line above all rows (hidden when empty). |
| project | In the header of each group, with the versions of that group's issues. |
| version | The version's own diamond in its header. |
Clusters
When several versions are close together, a diamond closer to the previous one than its label joins it, and the label becomes like v1.0, v1.1 +2. Hover for the list. Labels are cut with an ellipsis before the next diamond. Switch to the Weeks or Days scale to separate them.
Hover a diamond for the tooltip with the version link, the date and the status (when not open). A dashed vertical line shows the date across the chart.
Switch it off
Options, Versions turns the diamonds on and off. It is your personal preference and is on by default.
Versions as the end of the critical path
The versions that have a date and open issues are offered in the Critical path list. Choose one to see which issues stand between you and that release date and how many days you have. The diamond then turns red. Details: Critical path and float.
Milestones are read-only: you cannot drag a diamond. Change the version date in Redmine.
