The Planner tab or menu item is missing
- Check that the plugin is in Administration, Plugins. If it is not, run the migrations and restart Redmine, see Installing Planner.
- Open the project, Settings, Modules and select Planner.
- Give your role View planner in Roles and permissions.
I can see the chart but cannot move bars
You lack Edit planner draft in the project of that issue. Parent tasks with calculated dates (grey Summary bars) cannot be moved at all: edit their subtasks.
There are no dependency arrows or link circles
Open Options and select Display next to Related issues, then Apply. Arrows of hidden bars (collapsed rows) are not drawn.
An issue has no bar
The issue has no start and no due date. Hover its row and click, or drag, to schedule it. If the row is missing, the filter hides it or the limit Maximum number of items displayed on the gantt chart is reached; the chart says so.
Review changes shows Conflict
The issue was changed in Redmine (by the user named in the message) after the Draft change was made. Open the issue to see the change. To overwrite it, select the check box of the row; to keep it, discard the Draft change.
Apply fails with an error in a row
The transaction was rolled back and nothing was applied. Read the message in the row:
- A validation error of the issue (for example a required field): fix it in the issue or change the value.
- Redmine refuses a successor that would start before its predecessor allows. Apply the predecessor in the same selection.
- "You cannot apply this change": you lack Edit issues or Manage issue relations in that project.
The critical path is empty and there is a message above the chart
- issues without dates in a dependency chain: set dates for the listed issues or remove their dependencies.
- dependency cycle: remove one dependency of the cycle.
- more than 20000 issues with dates: use a smaller project scope.
Also check that you are on a project page: the critical path is not available on the global page. See Critical path and float.
Float is different from what I count by hand
Float is in working days and Planner starts from the dates shown on the chart including the Draft. Check the non-working days setting of Redmine, delays of relations, and that closed issues are not part of the calculation. See Working days.
The Baseline option or the Baselines list is missing
Baselines need the PRO build, a project page (not the global page) and at least one saved baseline. Save the first one with Save as baseline; you need Edit planner draft.
Group by sprint or Color by is missing
Sprints and colors come from the Agile PRO plugin. Install it and make sure you may view its queries.
Undo does not work after a reload
The Undo and Redo history lives in the browser tab and is cleared by a reload. The Draft itself is not lost: open Review changes to see it.
The Columns are not shown
They need the PRO build, Columns selected in Options and a screen wider than 900 pixels.
