This article describes how the Invoices plugin works with the Redmine Agent plugin. Everything below needs the Agent plugin installed; without it Invoices works as usual. All data and actions follow the permissions of the user and, for MCP, the scopes of the OAuth token. See MCP server and AI assistant tools for general setup.

What the AI gets

• Project metadata: get_project_metadata returns invoice_statuses (needs View invoices) with the ids used by create_invoice, update_invoice and list_invoices.

AI assistant tools (PRO)

invoice_search	invoices by number, subject, description or contact name, up to 10 results with status, amount, balance and contact
invoice_read	an invoice: fields, lines (description, quantity, price, tax, discount, total), payments and, when public links are enabled, the public link

Only invoices visible to the user are returned.

MCP tools

create_invoice	Add invoices	an invoice with all its lines in one call

list_invoice_payments	View invoices	payments, filter by invoice_id, contact_id and a date range
create_invoice_payment	Edit invoice payments	register a payment; the status and balance follow the payments
list_invoice_templates, get_invoice_template	View invoices	templates (the Liquid source only in get_invoice_template)
create_invoice_template, update_invoice_template, delete_invoice_template	Manage invoices	global when no project is given; invoices of a deleted template fall back to the default one
