If such an event occurs, do not worry.
It has crashed because Helpdesk is the only plugin that creates an additional log. Usually, all plugins are installed by root (or another user), and folders: files/, log/, public/, and tmp/ should be owned by the user that works with the webserver.
When we add a new log, there is no automatic change of its parameters.
In order to fix the Redmine crash after installation of the Helpdesk plugin you have to set up the same owner, permissions, and group to file redmine_helpdesk.log as you have in production.log.
Then restart the webserver.
